Johnny Appleseed Have children sit on the floor  with their legs "criss crossed" Pick one child to be "Johnny" and sit him/her in  a chair with their back facing the children who are sitting on the floor. Give  one child who is sitting on the floor a beanbag (which will represent the apple  seed) and have them hide it beneath them. The children then all say "Johnny  Johnny Where can your seed be? Stand up, turn around and find it for me!" The  child stands up and chooses a child who they think has their seed. They may  guess 3 times. The child who has the seed goes next. Lots of  fun!

Farmer Brown Had Ten Red Apples

Farmer Brown Had Ten Red Apples
Create this  tree with poster board, laminate then attach magnetic tape to where you
would  like the apples placed. Make the apples using foam (you will need 10) and add a  magnet to the back of each one so they will "attach" to the tree magnets.
Sing  the song below and remove one apple and pretend to eat it as you count down.  Continue until there are no more apples on the tree.

Farmer Brown had 10 red  apples hanging from a tree (hold up ten fingers)
He picked one  apple
and ate it hungrily
(pick one apple off the tree and pretend to eat it)
Farmer Brown had 9 red apples  hanging from a tree (hold up 9 fingers)
He picked one  apple
and ate it hungrily (pick one apple off the tree  and pretend to eat it)

(Continue by counting down the number of apples)

Fold a coffee filter in  half and cut out apple shape. Fold in half again and dip the edges into a  mixture of water and red food coloring (use green and yellow for different  colored apples). Unfold and allow to dry. Add leaves and stem. Hang on the windows.

Paint both paper plates brown and after it is dry mix a bit of glue and water to thin it out and paint it across the top. Sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and let dry. Add slits in the middle with a black marker and glue the two plates together to make the pie complete. Smells yummy!
