Yay! Snowmen! Who doesn't love snowmen? My students are thrilled to match their hat with the "matching" snowman! Draw the snowmen on a posterboard (leaving enough space for their hats), color each snowman's scarf a different color and make matching hats (click on picture above for template). Cut out a large snowman hat (any color will do) I chose red and then used magnetic strips to connect the hats to the snowmen. The children move their hat to a snowman when they arrive each morning. Let's Play The Snowball Game
Cut out enough white circles for each of your student's names. Write 1 letter  on each "snowball." For longer names make smaller circles. Paint the bottom of a  piece of blue construction paper like shown and set aside to dry. Have each  child put their letters in order to spell their name and glue onto paper. Add  "snowflakes" with paintbrush or q-tips. Say the following:

Let's play the snowball  game,
How many letters spell your  name? (point to one child and have them count out snowballs as they  point to each one, then child says "5 snowballs spell my name") You can also  have them say each letter, then proceed to another child.

Look at my orange carrot nose.
I have a tall black hat!
Can  you see my raisin mouth?
I have purple mittens.
Do you like my brown broom?
How many yellow buttons do I have?
My scarf is warm and red.
