Poem
Sometimes you get discouraged,
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
on furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing,
I'll be all grown up some day,
And all these tiny handprints,
will simply fade away.
So here's a final handprint
just so you can recall,
Exactly how my fingers
looked, When I was very small.
Hand Bouquet
Trace hand onto any color construction paper and cut out. Wrap hands around green straws and staple at the bottom. wrap a pipe cleaner around for a sweet bouquet for Mom.
With the help of donations of vitamin water bottles from the Parents we created beautiful flowers with unique vases. Use glass paint it works wonderful on the plastic bottle. The flower is made from a plastic top from soda to go cups with the petals made from construction paper. Use a straw for the stem. To keep the flower upright we filled the bottle with tissue paper. The center of the flower is crumpled up tissue paper.
Pasta Mother's Day Plate
Dye elbow macaroni red and allow to dry. Give each child a pink plate to design a special Mother's Day plate. They can make any design they wish. Add more colored elbow macaroni for different designs.
Coffee Filter Flower
Use two coffee filters to make these flowers for Mom. put 10-12 drops of food coloring into 1/2 cup of water. Fold coffee filter in half and then in half again. Dip the corners into different colors, unfold
and allow to dry.Put one coffee filter inside the other and add a pipe cleaner for the stem by poking it through the center of both filters and twist
Hand Butterfly Mother's Day Gift
Paint the center finger black all the way down to the palm like shown. Paint the pointer finger and ring finger one color and the pinky finger and thumb another color. Use a third color for the left and right side of the palm. Press hand down on a large piece of paper and swish fingers back and forth to make wings of the butterfly (you can help move fingers). Attach poem to the right side of the paper.
